How Velashape III Works
Velashape III combines infrared light, bi-polar radio frequency energy and vacuum. This amazing technology causes deep heating of the fat cells, their surrounding connective tissue and the underlying dermal collagen. The use of heat and vacuum results in the regeneration of new and better collagen as well as elastin which results in reductions of skin laxity, body volume, and an overall improvement in skin structure and texture.
In addition this promotes an increase in circulation, lymphatic drainage, and cellular metabolism as well as collagen deposition. On the cellular level Velashape III is stimulating fibroblast activity and remodeling what is known as the extracellular matrix which provides structure to the skin.
The FAQ’s of Velashape III
How does Velashape work?
As mentioned above, VelaShape combines three mechanisms: Infrared light energy, bipolar radiofrequency electrical energy, and suction massage. These energies work together to heat fat, collagen, and connective tissue below the skin to predetermined treatment levels. This also results in improved circulation and lymphatic flow of the treated area ultimately creating more collagen and firmer skin.
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a structural skin change that occurs mostly in females whether they are thin or overweight. It presents itself as texture irregularity in the skin such as dimpling and nodules. These areas are usually localized to the pelvic region, lower limbs, and abdomen. The underlying cause is the loss of connective tissue integrity and herniation of subcutaneous fat within fibrous connective tissue. This leads to a padded or orange peel–like appearance. Cellulite can occur in women of all ages and tends to become more visible with age.
Is Velashape only for cellulite?
Absolutely not! VelaShape’s is not only FDA approve for cellulite reduction but also circumferential body contouring to get rid of extra inches. The treatment can be custom tailored to each area depending on the problem or desired outcome.
What can Velashape treat on the body?
VelaShape is most often performed on the buttocks and thighs – outer, inner, front, and back. The abdominal area and flanks are also areas of frequent concern because of the unwanted fat that accumulates in those areas. We frequently also treat patients for laxity and fullness on their upper arms.
Does one procedure solve the problem?
One of the greatest upsides of Velashape is that it is a non-surgical procedure. Avoiding surgery, however, does mean that it requires more treatments and some follow ups from time to time. While the wheel of time never stops turning we recommend maintaining results and preventing new cellulite from developing with 1-2 maintenance treatments every 4-6 months for best results. We do offer a special Velaclub for our patients that love Velashape and this package offers tremendous savings for our repeat clients!
How long does each Velashape treatment take?
Treatment time depends on the size and number of areas being treated. Treatments can range from 30 minutes to a few hours depending on the size and number of body parts being targeted.
Are there any risks with Velashape?
VelaShape is generally a very safe procedure. As with any device that utilizes energy to produce heat, there’s always a risk of possible burn to the skin, however, that’s minimized by going to properly trained providers using the latest technology. Additionally minor bruising is noted from time to time. Veleshape is truly a now downtime procedure however that you can even do on your lunch break!
Are there any alternatives out there?
The VelaShape is the only FDA cleared device for both cellulite and circumferential reduction. It’s unique in combining the three energies of infra-red light energy, radiofrequency electrical energy, and suction massage. There are other treatments out there that offer these modalities individually but these wouldn’t have the synergistic effect of VelaShape III.
Does VelaShape III really work?
The safety and effectiveness of the VelaShape treatment has been demonstrated in multi-center clinical trials as well as in over 3.5 million independent treatments performed on patients globally. In addition, Candela continues to collect clinical data from the increasing number of users.
